These events are held in our home in Campbell
California. You will not find the address published here. We welcome music
lovers to our home for these events, but you must make a
reservation with us, at
which time we will provide you with the exact address. Our general location is
near Hwy 17 and San Tomas Expressway, just north of Los
Gatos.
We seat about 30 people at our house concerts. House concerts are not
commercial ventures in public venues, which means that people can't just
drop by to see if there's room. For this reason, we consider your reservation to
be a commitment to attend. If you find that you are not able to attend, please
let us know right away, as we often have a waiting list. The night of the
performance, we collect a suggested donation $15 per person, which all goes to the
musicians.
In 2008 we are also starting a series of
casual, unplugged Sunday afternoon "in the rounds" with friends who are
traveling through the area, along with local songwriters.

What is a House Concert?
House concerts have been going on for many years, but they are typically "under
the radar." You'd have to know the host to receive an invitation. These are
private events where musicians perform and the hosts open their home to music
lovers. The focus is always on the music, but the styles are as individual as each host. They all have in common an
intimate experience where interaction between the audience and the performers makes it extra special for
everyone.
Interested in hosting your own house concert?
Lots of information is available, as well as a discussion list for house concert
presenters all over the world. Check out the links below, or come talk to us.

About Our House Concerts
About 10 times a year, we invite musicians who we love and respect to perform a
private concert in our living room. We invite our friends, music lovers and fans
of the artists to join us. Our guests are warmly welcomed into an environment
that we've created especially for enjoying music. Sometimes we set up a sound
system appropriate to the artist and to the size of our living room, sometimes
the concert is entirely unplugged. Sometimes you'll hear baroque solo guitar,
sometimes jazz, and sometimes you'll hear hits you remember from your younger
days sung by the people who wrote them. But it will always be special.
What to Expect
Our home is on a larger corner lot and there is plenty of parking. We seat 30 in
our living room and we usually use sound reinforcement appropriate to the musicians who
are performing. We ask that guests arrive within the half hour before the music
is scheduled to begin. We serve dessert and coffee either between sets, or at
the end of the concert if the artist chooses to do one long set. The concerts
are typically 90 minutes to 2 hours. The artists will have CDs to sell... buying
direct with cash is the best way to support an independent artist.
How to Attend
Click here to go to our online reservations page. Indicate which concert you
would like to attend and how many are in your party. You will be given the address and directions once we
receive your attendance commitment. If you find later on that you won't be able
to make it after all, it is very important that you contact us to let us know,
as we often have a waiting list.
Children
While we hope that you will expose your children to live music, only you can decide at
what age your children can truly enjoy a live concert. Generally pre-school and
school aged children become
bored and antsy, possibly disrupting the performance as well as the experience
of other concert-goers. We can not allow children in the unsupervised areas
of our house or yard.
Other House Policies
No smoking inside the house. No alcohol at the concerts. No dogs or other pets.
